Some songs bring you in so deep that while you’re listening to it you feel dead and empty inside. And then when it’s over, you never want to go there again, for real or not. And it makes you a better person. Makes you feel a little hopeful. If you can come back from that song and the artist can come back from wherever they fell from, then everything else will be OK.
